Suddenly, the calm shattered.

It began with a few monkeys in the treetops, watching us with unusual intensity. Then more appeared. Dozens. They dropped from branches, dashed across the path, screeched from the shadows. Within moments, we were completely surrounded by a troop of wild, unpredictable monkeys—and they were not acting friendly.
